Retreat FAQs

How strenuous are the mindful walks?

Walks are fairly gentle, on marked paths and up to 3 miles. We will take group needs into account when planning the walks to enable as many as possible to join.

Do I need any special equipment or clothing?

Our retreats are definitely informal and casual clothing is best. Please bring warm clothes and waterproofs for going outdoors, and sturdy shoes or boots for walking - we are in the north of England near the lake District so weather is always unpredictable!

Please wear clean, soft-soled, non-marking footwear in the Centre.
To help protect our wooden floors, we ask guests not to wear stiletto heeled shoes. Racks are provided to store outdoor shoes and boots.

I don’t do yoga - is this a problem?

Not at all. Yoga sessions are informal and optional. We are not teaching yoga, but for those of you who want to continue your practice we have allowed time for you to do this freestyle, with others who want to.

I have a long way to travel, is it OK if I arrive a bit late on the first day?

We encourage guests to arrive for our 6.00pm check-in and welcome cuppa, but we realise that’s not possible for everybody and we can allow some flexibility for you if you need it. Please let us know if that’s the case.

If I book a shared room, who will I be sharing with?

There are a maximum of 10  like-minded guests on this retreat and, in a shared room, you would be with 1 other guest. We invite you to bring an open mind and heart with you and to use the retreat as an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with the other guests including the other person sharing your room, and to trust that you have been connected to that person for a reason.

How do I book my spot?

Simply use the RSVP button located on the retreat page to register your interest and we'll be in touch to answer any questions and confirm your booking. Alternatively you can call Rachel direct on 07753790158.

What is the cancellation policy?

From the venue

The Haybergill Centre is secluded from general circulation with no neighbours or unknown visitors, and is therefore, a relatively safe place to be with plenty of space and fresh air. You will know everybody on our premises, your own group, our small team of hosts and of course Kody the dog.

Our team is well trained and our procedures, in line with Government guidelines, help to keep everyone safe. Staff will still be wearing appropriate PPE to the task in hand and have chosen to still wear masks when near to guests.

Whilst restrictions have been lifted, we ask that everyone respects each other’s space and that people understand staff are choosing to maintain some social distancing from guests.

Guests will have the choice to stay in single or shared en-suite bedrooms. All bedrooms have a filter water jug, hospitality tray with a wide selection of teas & coffee and an individual cake/biscuit goodie box for each guest. Staff will not come into the bedrooms during a stay unless there is a maintenance issue. Please just ask a member of staff if there is anything you require. We still recommend you bring your own towels and toiletries and politely ask you to strip your own bed at the end of your stay to help staff stay safe.

Staff are taking twice weekly routine tests which includes guest arrival day.

We would still request guests to consider hand hygiene by washing regularly with soap and water and by using the sanitiser provided around the buildings before coming for meals.

For everyone’s peace of mind we will be doing a deep clean of the whole centre between groups and extra general sanitizing of dining tables and communal touch points.

Until further notice staff will be serving all food from the buffet table and the help yourself food fridge is no longer available.  A small drinks fridge is now in the foyer for guests to use.
